While we may have just gotten word that the NBA has canceled all games through November 30th, basketball lives on in the hearts and minds of athletes who play the game simply for the love of the game. That’s the simple yet compelling message behind Nike‘s “Basketball Never Stops” ad campaign, the first commercial for which is set to debut tomorrow night during prime time television programming. Produced by Wieden+Kennedy and Park Pictures, the spot is directed by award-winning cinematographer Lance Acord and features a bevy of basketball talent: LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Amar’e Stoudemire, Dirk Nowitzki, Sue Bird and Coach Mike Krzyzewski. Recording artists J. Cole and Questlove from the Roots lend their presence as fans of the game. In addition to these basketball and entertainment titans, the spotlight shines on the unheralded everyday players — the high school teams, the guys at Rucker Park, the elite amateur players from the summer leagues — who all keep the sport alive. You can play your own part by uploading pics or videos demonstrating how basketball never stops in your life on to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr or Instagram, with the hashtag #BasketballNeverStops. The most creative submissions will earn various prizes.

Next to the DC 100 Concept, Land Rover also revealed yesterday at the Frankfurt Auto Show the DC 100 Sport Concept. The convertible sport version of the ‘new Defender’ takes things a little further. While we are pretty sure that Defender lovers will not be able to stand behind the current concept, we do think and hope that it will make it onto the streets in one form or another, hopefully without having to replace the original at all.

Nike is set to release a new version of the shoe using the same color blocking as the Luminous Pearl model, but with two significant revisions: one, this one doesn’t glow in the dark, and two, Nike has swapped out the previous outsole for one that’s icy blue. New Era opted to pursuit the basic route initially when they dropped their bag collection, however their latest releases show a more colorful personality. Four eye catching versions are produced in red, sky blue, purple and white in both backpack and waist bag styles. While the Nike LeBron 8 had plenty of killer colorways, it’s hard to argue that the one that really put it on the map was any other than the South Beaches. Nike may be looking to emulate that success with the upcoming LeBron 9, shown here in a Miami colorway with a bit of a strange back story, apparently drawing inspiration for the green and orange combo from an Air Force training camp held in Miami last year. Way subtler than the last Miami-inspired LeBron James release, this one still packs a punch thanks to the injection of volt-colored accents such as the swoosh and James’ scrawled signature on the tongue. Audi has given the vast internet community an advance look of its new RS5 model albeit it’s slated for a global début at the forthcoming 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. Updated with a new face, the coupe model features re-styled headlamps, new daytime running lamps, revised lower fascia, and singular fog lamp. Hand-built at Audi’s Györ factory, the RS5 uses a high-revving V8 engine that’s closely related to the high-performance V10. Numerous exclusive features for the interior are also added which includes carbon design package for engine compartment, adaptive cruise control, Audi side assist, adaptive light, MMI navigation plus, Bluetooth online car phone, and the Bang & Olufsen sound system.
